Stables

The Northlook

Rowdy tavern and taproom. Chairs strewn about with small tables. Roaring fire above which hangs a battle-scarred knucklehead trout known as Ol BiteyJaclyn Kneescrabble, the bar wench, walks around periodically, bringing beer and other sundries. The proprietor, a human named Scramsaxx shuffles between the tavern room and the front desk, attending to guests.

House of the Morninglord

A modest converted house serves as a gathering place for worshipers. Some pews and art relating to the sun. A small staircase leads upstairs. Called "House of the Morninglord," this is a shrine of Amaunator (a god of the sun known to take both male and female forms). The Priestess calls Amaunator “the Morninglord” even though southerners use that name to describe Lathander, a god of the dawn and rebirth.

Happenings

§ Details
20 Before the vote, Jartha stepped forward. He revealed that he had long acted as a double agent within Naerth’s ranks, providing meaningless intel about Caer Koenig while learning about Naerth's operation for the Harpers. His testimony, delivered without bitterness, weighed heavily. In the aftermath, he remained in Bryn Shander, alongside Imdra Aggerlath, Fef Morryn, and Roark, all of whom have offered their advice and counsel and have offered to serve as trainers for both you individually and for the new army. A vote on Naerth was taken. By narrow margin, the Council of Speakers resolved to place him under arrest. He was taken into custody by Sheriff Markham Southwell, acting under the authority of Duvessa Shane of Bryn Shander. The Speakers found that the center of Naerth’s crimes—his schemes, bribes, and coercions—struck at the heart of the Council itself, which Bryn Shander was duty-bound to protect as host of the Council. Naerth is being transported to Revel's End for pre-trial detention. His conduct will be formally investigated. If you want to interrogate him, you will have to travel there. Orders have gone out. Every town has been directed to raise its militia, as best it can, with whatever it can muster. One week from today, half of all able-bodied fighters are to report to a rallying point where the Eastway meets the road between the Redwaters and Lac Dinneshere. Training is to begin immediately. The Council has deferred its decision on command. But it agreed, without dissent, that one general must be named. In the days to come, that burden will fall on someone. For now, the Dale begins to march.
18 The group arrives at the Bryn Shander Town Hall for the Council of Speakers meeting. Outside, they observe a crowd of about two dozen people from various towns, including militia members, commoners, and some professionals. Through a group perception check, they spot Merken's pickpocket friend among the Targos crew, a Targos militia member with magical sigils on his forearms, and Merken's lady friend. Markham Southwell is at the door of the Town Hall, where many of the expected attendees are already inside. The group notes the presence of various militia groups from different towns, as well as Avarice.
16 The group successfully convinces Oarus Masthew to support their cause after a tense confrontation with his militia. They defeat the remaining militia members and escort the speaker safely to Bryn Shander for the upcoming Council of Speakers vote. Orion has an ominous dream about Auril the Frost Maiden warning of a great danger approaching. The party rests and prepares for the critical council meeting the next day.
15 The group meets with Duvessa Shane in Bryn Shander's town hall to report on their recent activities. They inform her about the successful election in Good Mead and share information about potential collaboration between goblins, orcs, and duergar. Duvessa expresses gratitude for their protection of Garn during the feast and their handling of the white moose situation in Lonelywood. She indicates there is much more to discuss about recent events.
15 Duvessa Shane expresses concern about a potential invasion and suggests going to the Council to raise a standing army. The group discusses the political landscape of Ten Towns, including the need for six votes to raise an army. She outlines potential allies and opponents on the Council, suggesting Bryn Shander as a defensive position. She then presents each party member with a magical item suited to their abilities: Merken receives the Ring of the Amorous Grove, Johnny Blades gets the Coin of the Honest Thief, Bragnar is given the Gauntlets of the Giant Slayer, and Orion receives the Beacon of the North. The session concludes with the characters reaching their next level completing the first saga of the campaign.
13 Sahnar relayed the news that Speaker Oarus Masthew of Termalaine wrote to them on 1st Nightal saying he ordered militia to clear mine, they refused; that speaker election held in Good Mead was open to all residents on 5th of Nightal; and that Council of Speakers would meet in Bryn Shander on 7th of Nightal
10 Markham Southwell who brought thanks from Duvessa Shane and was accompanied by the pickpocket child from Bryn Shander, named Willie. Markham said he learned what happened with Eddie Southwell and admitted he had suspicions but still didn't believe Eddie would ally with Naerth Maxildannar.
08 A large humanoid figure in golden robes with oiled-back short blond hair steps out of the vortex which closes behind him. It is Amaunator. He glances down at a scroll. Announces that Bardley recruited 100 followers in Bryn Shander and grants divine intervention in directon of Bardley's body. A beam of warm sunlight breaks through the clouds. Amaunator exits. Bradley does not move.
